MPLS
Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) is a switching technology that forwards data from one source to its destination using labels rather than IP addresses. The MPLS protocol speeds up and influences traffic flows. In a legacy MPLS network, the first router to receive a packet governs the packet’s entire route.
The identity of that packet is then transported to the following routers using a label in the packet header. MPLS compresses packets of several network protocols, which is why it is known as a multiprotocol. MPLS supports a wide variety of access technologies.
P2P
One of the most highly-touted benefits of using P2P technology lies in its ability to cut bandwidth bills. Simply put, infrastructure costs a lot of money to set up, so it’s much better when individual users take on the hosting and distribution load instead of relying on traditional servers.
A good example of a major company that couldn’t exist without P2P is Skype, the famed online phone business that allows you to call your friends and family for free over the Internet.
SD WAN
D-WAN architecture offering on-site equipment that connects to a cloud gateway (or virtual gateway). This provides the benefits of an on-premise SD-WAN (real time traffic shaping for example) with the added benefits of performance boosts when companies use cloud applications. This is most beneficial in situations where connectivity becomes an issue,
but cloud applications can remain connected to a gateway that’s networked directly to a cloud provider. Those gateways can keep sessions active for cloud applications. It’s common for cloud apps to run over public internet where they’re controlled by the company’s SD-WAN
